MusicLive Freestyle Session 1 (Goodbye)Dec 10, '07 11:30 AM
for everyone
i was just test-recording for Acoustic guitar mixing, so i ended up putting words in it ^_^ but of course i didn't think much of it, its more of a "freestyle" adlib whatever- comes-to-mind singing ^_^ hehe.. plus me and my fascination with the AutoTune and Vocoder . the AutoTune is the "T-pain" effect (makes you sound kinda robotic) and the Vocoder is that instant-blending effect (the effect Imogen Heap used in "Hide and Seek"), plus some dynamic delay and reverb ^_^

Since i did the vocals live with all the effects, in some parts my PC lagged and i think it skipped. haha, im too lazy to fix it so im sorry about that ^_^ hope you like it.

FYI dude, thats just a cheap crappy guitar that has a tune glitch in open string.. haha.. its the mic that made it sound good ^_^ i didnt even add effects (well, just a little reverb)^_^ BEHRINGERs are cheap and good enough, well worth you money ^_^

damn. still sounded better than my cousin's Martin on my cheap ass mic.

i'm eyeing a Samsone USB mic to start. i dunno. would that suffice..? or should i go full with the phantom powered ones..? theyre about the same price but I would need a box to use the behringer.

any thoughts sensei? ;-)

the phantom ones are usually the condenser mics, so far i think they're really the best when it comes to quality, but not recommended for live performances since the pick up is too sensitive (thats where dynamic mics come in). but if its for studio use or recording, get the phantom powered ones. you dont really need a USB mic, what u want is a USB or Firewire audio converter (which is basically like a USB soundcard with the RF in and outs), coz thats where you'll plug your mixer, and in the mixer you plug anything -- mic, guitar, keyboard etc. some mixer consoles now have direct USB out so no need for the soundcard.

im a Behringer fan so here's the best deal i got for good quality and price:
UCA202 Audio Interface
RF input and output, fiber optic output, headphones output, volume control. USB
around $30

XENYX802 2 Channel mixer console
8-input, 2-bus, Phantom 48V
around $60

C1 Condenser microphone
with mic stand head and carrying case
around $40

...so thats like $130 bucks for pro quality recording ^_^
so compare whatever you're planning to buy to this deal i just showed you, so far its the best i could find. just google them for the details and where to get it, one thing's for sure, its way cheaper there compared to the prices here (maybe coz you're close to Germany ^^) anyway i hope that helped.
